NewsNest ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application NewsNest ("App") handles information.

NewsNest does not require user registration or accounts. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) such as:

• Device identifiers for tracking purposes
• Browsing history outside the app

Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:

• News Interest Preferences — Categories you select (e.g., Technology, Sports, Business)
• City Selection — Your chosen city for local news updates
• Bookmarked Articles — Articles you save for later reading
• Theme Preference — Light/dark mode setting
• Recent Searches — Your last 10 search queries within the app

Third-Party Services

Our app uses the following third-party services that may collect data independently:

• Google AdMob — For displaying advertisements. AdMob may collect device information and advertising identifiers as described in Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized ads through your device's ad settings.
• News APIs — For fetching news articles. Only your selected interest categories and city name are sent as query parameters. No personal data is transmitted.

Data Security

All user preferences and bookmarks are stored locally using industry-standard local storage mechanisms (SharedPreferences and Hive database). No data is transmitted to external servers under our control.

Children's Privacy

NewsNest does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The app is designed for general audiences and is rated "Everyone" on app stores.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all app data at any time by:

• Going to your device Settings → Apps → NewsNest → Clear Data/Clear Cache
• Uninstalling the app (all local data is permanently removed)

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
